5-minute Individual Potato Gratins

Nate and I are fans of the show "the Next FoodNetwork Star" this was on the other night so I tried it for dinner and it was REALLY easy and really delicious. I made my own changes, here is what I did.

Ingredients
Vegetable spray
2 large russet potatoes, or a few red potatoes thinly sliced
1/2 cup grated cheese...use your favorite, I like to use a mixture.
*and try not to use pre-shredded cheese from the store. They are usually dusted in a starch or something which makes them take longer to melt.
2 green onions chopped
salt, seasoning salts, and fresh ground pepper
3/4 cup of cream. (I've even used milk when I'm running low.)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Spray 8 muffin tins with vegetable spray. Layer potato slices, cheese, and onions into each muffin cup. Season with salt and pepper and top each gratin with 1 or 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Cover with foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, removing the foil halfway through cooking time. Invert gratins onto plate and serve.

Tins with Cream in them...I turned on the broiler at the end- nice and crispy!

  3. I tried this recipe and it was very fun and easy and CHEAP! AND very yummy! My family loved them. THe only thing that I would suggest.. I follow the recipe and used just swiss cheese and it ended up needing to be salted a bit more when we were eating, I should have added more before the cream was drizzled to help spread it through the holder. But better under salted than over.. always easy to add it in the end! Very yummy...

  4. The best potatoes EVER! I used cheddar cheese and it was awesome. I made some with and without onion and the ones with onion were SO much better.
