Vermont Steamer

Have you ever had a steamer before? Do you like them? I kinda do. If you don't know what a "steamer" is.. it's basically milk that has been heated with added flavor. I once-upon-a-time worked in a Sandwich Shop.. Tony's in Walla Walla, WA. (best panini's if you are in the area). Anyhow they had a little coffee bar that we would experiment with making all sorts of concoctions. I loved to make steamers, the milk was the perfect base for any crazy flavor mix I was in the mood for. Now I get my flavor fill at with a Starbucks Steamer. But they are soooo easy to make you might as well do it at home in your cozy sweats and save a few bucks.

This Vermont Steamer is a great place to start if you are new to the steaming world. "Vermont" because Vermont is known for it's maple syrup, and this steamer uses maple! Maple Syrup can be kinda pricey, but its flavor is awesome. Hard to substitute the real thing.

Start out by bring your milk to a frothy boil while whisking. Once it is to the point where it rises quickly remove it from the heat so you don't scorch the milk. Quickly add in your maple syrup and whisk again.  Pour into a mug and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

Cozy up with your favorite movie.
