Dr Pepper Chicken

I based this chicken off the "sweet Pork" from Cafe Rio and that I had Dr.Pepper in my Fridge I didn't want my kids drinking.

It turned out SOO good. and So easy. Kids LOVED it. of course they did...its sweet.

9 boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins
1 liter of Dr Pepper *enough to cover the chicken completely!*
1/3 cup BBQ sauce (I used sweet baby rays)
1 T worchestire sauce
1 tsp cumin
3/4 cup brown sugar

combine all in crock pot and cook for a few hours.. Shred 1/
2 hour before and let sit in the juice to marinate a little longer.

I like to eat this classic taco style- corn tortilla, pico, guacamole and sour cream.
Nate loves it burrito style. filled with corn, rice, lettuce

p.s. like I said, I made this up. So if you don't like something about it, or changed something PLEASE tell me. It's probably for the better and I'd love to change/add it to this recipe.

  1. hmm.. interesting. Going to have to give it a try! we heart sweet meat and the acid I am sure makes it super tender.
