this is a simple classic meal.
We used to make it all the time, but alas new recipes came and went and this one just got tucked back in the archives. (you can look it up called "the best sweet n sour chicken")
Then, we Re-disovered it again. LOVE it.
I thought I would re-post it, for good ol times sake.
With pictures this time too.
Sweet n Sour Chicken
Ingredients
2 lbs pork or chicken (cooked or browned)
2 cups pineapple chunks AND juice
1/2 cup catchup
2 T soy sauce
1 green pepper- chunked.
1 large onion chunked.
4 T corn starch
1/3 cup white vinegar
1 t Worcestershire sauce
dash Tabasco
1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
I like to add my onion at the browning stage of the chicken. Just to add flavor to the chicken and all that good stuff.
Combine all except green pepper and cornstarch. Cook 10 minutes. Thicken with Cornstarch, then add green pepper. Cook until onions are tender. The longer it simmers the better, great in dutch oven.
Browning chicken, and onion. (a green pepper did slip in there)
Simmer for 10 minutes.
I kind of let the bottom of mine burn..I was doing tooo many things. SO your sauce may not be this brown.
Oh this looks yummy...and looking at the ingredients, it would pass with Nate haha!
