Easy Donuts!

My friends used to make these in college for an evening treat. Easy and yum.

All you need is a can of refrigerated biscuit dough. Oil, and toppings. Heat oil up until you see ripples. Take the rolls, make a hole in the middle and stretch them out. Fry them, turn when bubbly, continue frying. Drain on paper towels but quickly dump them in powdered sugar or cinnamon/sugar mixture. Eat!

Super easy, cheap, and yum! I am going to try melting chocolate chips and drizzling it on them next time. Maybe frosting too? Pin It

5-minute Individual Potato Gratins

Nate and I are fans of the show "the Next FoodNetwork Star" this was on the other night so I tried it for dinner and it was REALLY easy and really delicious. I made my own changes, here is what I did.

Ingredients
Vegetable spray
2 large russet potatoes, or a few red potatoes thinly sliced
1/2 cup grated cheese...use your favorite, I like to use a mixture.
*and try not to use pre-shredded cheese from the store. They are usually dusted in a starch or something which makes them take longer to melt.
2 green onions chopped
salt, seasoning salts, and fresh ground pepper
3/4 cup of cream. (I've even used milk when I'm running low.)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Spray 8 muffin tins with vegetable spray. Layer potato slices, cheese, and onions into each muffin cup. Season with salt and pepper and top each gratin with 1 or 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Cover with foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, removing the foil halfway through cooking time. Invert gratins onto plate and serve.

Tins with Cream in them...I turned on the broiler at the end- nice and crispy!
