I lived in the tiniest town in Idaho... Moscow Idaho. I had the best little group of girl friends-I don't know if it was the air or the water or maybe the food- but something was different about life and our friendships up there. I SOOOOO Miss them, and I miss that way of life. It was slower, and simpler. Kind of what you imagine when you think of lemonade, right....sittin' on the front porch drink ice cold lemonade :)
These girls all made homemade lemonade, game nights, or family BBQ's they made stellar drinks.
The Lemonade on this blog, is from my sweet friend up there....
SO I took that recipe and made it into strawberry lemonade. Very simple, fresh. And impressive :)
Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
1-2 cups water
2 pints strawberries
1 T lemon extract
1- 1 1/2 Cup fresh lemon juice (about 8+ lemons)
1 TBS citric acid
12-16 cups cold water
sliced lemons and strawberries for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
This recipe fills my 5.5L beverage dispenser
Cut stems, and wash strawberries.
Blend in blender with a cup (or two) of water*
In a 2 liter pitcher (just your regular ol' pitcher) add sugar, lemon extract, lemon juice, citric acid and fill with cold water (about 8 cups)
stir and mix. mix and stir. Till sugar is dissolved.
if desired strain strawberry puree so their are no seeds.
Add sugar water (anyone else thinking of Men in black) and strawberry puree to beverage dispenser.
Add rest of water....you will want to taste test to get the perfect tart/sweet balance . If you like yours thick or thin, strong or weak....add the water to your liking.
Serve over ice, garnish with lemons and strawberries.
